Dear Watchers
Celebrating Twenty Years of Publishing
Founded in May 1992, the April 2012 issue of Whatcom Watch completed twenty years of publishing. Over the years, volunteers have put in countless hours on Whatcom County’s independent, nonprofit publication covering local government and environmental news.
Thank you to the founders, Lorena Havens, Rebecca Meloy, and Sherilyn Wells.
And thank you to Whatcom Watch’s subsequent editors: Nichole Oliver, Sue Lorentz, Sea Ganschow, Helen Brandt, Sally Hewitt, Emily Linroth, Jennifer Karchmer and David Camp.
Readers have looked for Joe Meche’s monthly birding columns. George Jartos cartoons have been a regular feature. The iconic heron dipping its foot in the water was created for Whatcom Watch by Ron Sorensen. Holding it all together through multiple transitions has been Bill McCallum. Hundreds of local citizens have contributed articles and graphics during these twenty years.
Whatcom Watch has had a presence on the World Wide Web since 1998 due to the efforts of webmasters Ken Russell and Tom Pratum.
With your support Whatcom Watch will be able to continue providing reports and commentary on important local issues. Please consider subscribing.
