Wind Farm v. Homeland Security
by Ellen Murphy
Item in today’s news, June 13, 2006:
“Wind farms on Great Plains must be stopped, ‘presumed hazard’ to military radar, government says.”
Raising high their blades
like petals, to the sky,
they praise the 4 directions.
On a heartland rise, above
the retching oil rig
the ticking nuclear dome
the coal train,
turbines spin — hated foreigners to some,
but lovers, to the wind.
Like so many who make green energy their quest,
So may these dervishes be subject to arrest.
