Port of Bellingham

Compiled by Earl Dennis

Action Taken at December 16, 2003 Meeting

Shall the Commission

108. Authorize the executive director to sign a $37,500 contract with Kenneth Kok Electrical Engineering of Lynden for engineering services at the Wood Stone expansion at the Bellingham airport? Kok was selected as the most qualified from the two firms that responded to the request for qualifications process. Kok will assist port staff in electrical design preparations (drawings and specifications), ensure local codes are met, and help with the facility’s electrical inspection. The cost contract is well within the electrical budget of $550,000 for the project. Approved 3-0

109. Authorize the executive director to extend the agreement with the city of Bellingham to install kiosks on port property? In April 2002, the port signed an agreement with the city to install information kiosks on port property as part of the wayfinding system. This agreement expired on December 31, 2003. The city expects to have the kiosks installed at three locations (Bellweather By the Bay, Marina Square and Marine Park) by the end of January 2004. Approved 3-0

110. Authorize the executive director to sign a lease with Dr. Goodman-Wilson (Bellingham Medical Clinic) for a suite in Bellwether By the Bay? This five-year lease, with two five-year renewals, starts January 1, 2004. The monthly rent will be $2,200 plus utilities for the 1,250 square feet of space. Since the tenant is making $50,000 in improvements he will have four months rent free to get the needed permits and finish the construction work. Approved 3-0
